Traveling for work or for fun can take a toll on the body. Sitting on planes, trains, and automobiles will tighten your hips and round your shoulders. Busy schedules don't give us much time to exercise. Working out in the tiny hotel gym isn't very appealing and finding a good running route in a new busy city can be overwhelming. What can you do? The Busy Traveler's Workout can be done in a hotel room in less than 20 minutes and will improve your posture, increase your energy, improve your mood, and lengthen and strengthen your body. Try it, you will love it!

I recently received the Oregon Health & Science University spring magazine in the mail and when flipping through it saw in the Question & Answer section this question: Let's examine what is said here and what part is true and what part is not true and how you can figure out the best course of action to become pain free.
Driving is something we all do in some form and we have all experienced the tightness, discomfort, and pain that can come with driving. Whether you are a Nascar driver, long haul truck driver, bus driver, or a Uber or Lyft driver you will benefit from the improved posture, increased joint range of motion, and improved reaction speed this routine will bring. If you commute to work daily, drive your kids to and from school, or enjoy road trips with family or friends you will appreciate the stress relief, relaxation, and pain relief these exercises will give you. Do these postural alignment exercises before you leave for work in the morning, at rest stops during a road trip, or at the end of a long day driving your delivery truck. This posture balancing workout for drivers was made by Pete Egoscue and Sonima.com.

Of the 35 million or so children involved in sports in the US about 10% of those are treated annually for sports related injuries. Dr. Andrews says there are several things that we can do to reduce the number and severity of youth sports injuries (half of which are overuse injuries). He says often the problem starts with parents who think their child is going to be the next LeBron James, Serena Williams, Tom Brady, or Lionel Messi.
The pelvis or the hips are the foundation of the body. Your hips are the engine that drives your locomotor system: your legs. Your hips will determine how you move: how fast, how symmetrically, how smoothly. When one hip is in a different position than the other hip (elevated, rotated, tilted, twisted, or shifted) or one hip is functioning differently than the other hip (more/less stable, stronger/weaker, tighter/more mobile) this causes your legs to move differently. A small misalignment in how your hips are positioned or function can cause injuries and pain throughout your body.

It is amazing! I've been in pain for 5 years and worked with other therapists and no one has been able to help me. Working with you I am 95% pain free! It feels so good to not have any pain and be able to walk and do things I haven't been able to do for years. Thank you so much! - Joni |
