The Right Tool For the Job

Ever try to screw in a bolt with a hammer? Didn't work well did it?

There's a reason why we have a garage full of different tools - each one is designed for a specific job and works well for that job but not so much for other jobs. A snow shovel works great for clearing your driveway of snow but a rake just won't do the job. That rake, however, is really good at cleaning up leaves off your lawn in the fall and the snow shovel isn't very effective.

When we start talking about your health, using the right tool for the job is also very important.
If you break your leg, you want to go to the emergency room and get a cast put on to allow your leg bone to heal. If you cut your hand chopping vegetables for dinner, you want to go to the closest minor emergency clinic and get stitches to close up the cut. If you have back pain, most people go to their doctor and get pain medication. But is that the right tool for the job?
Picture
Pain medication might deduce your pain temporarily, but it does nothing about the cause of the pain. If you roof is leaking and water is pooling on your living room floor, you might wipe up the water on the floor with a towel, but you aren't going to think the towel fixed the leak. You're going to patch your roof where the leak is originating and then the towel isn't needed.

In most cases of musculoskeletal pain from back, neck, and knee pain, to carpal tunnel and plantar fasciitis, pain medication is like a towel in the above example and Posture Alignment Therapy fixes the hole in your roof.

This is true whether you are given an anti-inflammatory medication (Aleve, Advil, Celebrex, Voltaren), a muscle relaxant (Soma, Flexeril, Valium), or a pain killer (Vicodin, OxyContin, Percocet). They all are just towels wiping up the water on the floor. They don't climb the ladder and patch the hole in your roof.

Getting to the root cause of the problem and fixing that will allow you to live pain free without drugs, surgery, or manipulation. That's what Posture Alignment Therapy can do for you. It's the right tool for the job.
