Matt Whitehead: Egoscue Institute Certified
Matt has always been an athlete and believes the human body is designed to live, play, and be pain free no matter our age or history. He believes in our bodies' ability to heal itself. Matt has had his fair share of running and sports injuries - excruciating knee, hip, shoulder, and back pain - and knows what it is like to be told “your body isn’t designed to ______" (fill in the blank with your favorite sport or activity). Matt always believed his body had the ability to recover and finding The Egoscue Method® of Exercise Therapy gave him the tools to get himself pain free and back to living an active and fulfilling life. Matt is certified by the Egoscue Institute® as a Postural Alignment Specialist (PAS I & II) and Advanced Exercise Therapist (AET) and is a licensed PTX therapist and has over 20 years experience helping people become pain free. You can learn more about Matt's journey to become a posture alignment therapist in the book "How Did I Not Know About This?" available on Amazon.
Matt founded Oregon Exercise Therapy (OET) in 2013 and before that worked for 9 years as an Exercise Therapist, Clinic Director, and Therapy Director at Egoscue® Portland and as an Egoscue® Instructor for Egoscue University® (now called Egoscue Institute®). Matt was an Egoscue® instructor for P3 Posture, Pain, and Performance workshops and Posture Alignment Specialist seminars from 2005 until 2013. Matt continues to work with many Egoscue certified PAS therapists and PTX licensed therapists sharing his expertise, explaining his evaluation techniques, and teaching his advanced therapy methods to help them advance their skills and help more people become pain free. Matt enjoys working with the young and old, athlete and non-athlete, those in pain and those looking for improved posture or performance.
